What you’re dealing with

You have bought a fixture that cost more than most people spend on a whole bathroom, and it needs to go in without a mark on it — or one you already own has started dripping and nobody will touch it.

Premium fixtures are not harder versions of ordinary ones; they are different objects, with solid brass bodies, brand-specific cartridges and finishes that mark if you handle them wrong. We have been installing and repairing them across Toronto for close to three decades.

What the work may involve

• Checking the rough-in against the fixture's own template before anything is cut
• Setting valve bodies and stub-outs to the finished surface, not the stud
• Drilling stone and tile for wall-mounts and deck-mounts
• Identifying and sourcing brand-specific cartridges, stems and seats
• Rebuilding older valves rather than replacing them where parts still exist
• Pressure testing and commissioning before handover
